Oddvar Sten Ronsen is an experienced project appraisal and finance specialist with a
considerable number of successful engagements in industrial and environmental
projects in emerging markets and developing countries. He has more than 30 years
of international experience in development finance involving a number of
international institutions such as the Development Bank of Zambia. He has served
as Senior Vice President for both Bergen Bank and Den Norske Bank, with 12 years
in the capacity of Senior Vice President of the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB),
specialising in project and risk appraisal. In these capacities he has acquired an in-
depth knowledge of leading management processes on the planning and
implementation of strategies in an international context. He has also made a major
contribution to resolving financing and funding issues for projects in emerging
markets and developing countries. Oddvar has worked in Vietnamese developments for over 10 years including as Board Member of the Mekong Organisation of Microfinance (MOM) in advisory capacities involving strategy, organisational and software development, credit appraisal, control procedures, risk management, funding and pricing. He has also served as Board Member of Alliance Microfinance, the microfinance arm of the Norwegian Mission Alliance. Oddvar has worked in a wide range of countries including Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Turkey, China, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malysia, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, United Kingdom, Spain and Norway.
